Threefold Repetition
Threefold Repetition: A draw that may be claimed when the same position occurs three times with the same legal possibilities.
In-Depth Explanation
The repetitions do not need to occur consecutively. The same side must be to move, with identical castling and en passant rights. Under standard tournament rules a player claims the draw; some online systems apply it automatically. Repeating moves alone is insufficient if the legal position changed.
